Obituary of Joyce Case
Our amazing Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and friend passed away on April 12, 2013 due to Leukemia (AML). She was born on February 1, 1930 to George and Charlotte Barlow in Great Falls, Montana. On September 14, 1956 she married Glenn Alan Case in the LDS Los Angeles Temple. They resided in San Leandro, CA where they raised their 6 children. When Glenn retired in 1988 they moved to Oregon. Joyce was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many leadership positions, was a wonderful teacher and filled four full-time missions for the church. She is survived by her eternal companion Glenn and 6 children: Diana Denton (Tony) of Nacogdoches, TX, Debra Astle (Randy) of Kennesaw, GA, Kathleen Case of Springfield, OR, Marlene Stewart (Clair) of Las Vegas, NV, Alan Case (Linda) of Ashland, OR, and Christine Davis (Carl) of Hillsboro, OR, 19 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. One brother Raleigh Barlowe of East Lansing, MI and two sisters Sally Cragun of South Weber, UT and Shirley Taylor of Spokane, WA. Her brother Maurice preceded her in death. Joyce will be remembered for her testimony of Jesus Christ, her strength, independence, service, love, and dedication. She was a fabulous cook, baker, and seamstress; pies and bread were her specialties. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 19th from 6-8 p.m. at Springfield Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: 1155 President Street in Eugene, OR on April 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please contribute to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints General Missionary Fund as per Joyce’s request.
