Obituary of Miki Powers

Miki Powers, lovingly known as, "Nana Mouse" age 76, passed away April 30, 2013 of natural causes. She was born March 14, 1937, in Cottage Grove, Oregon to Frank & Geneva (Powell) Richardson. A private family service will be held.She grew up in Cottage Grove, OR. and graduated from Cottage Grove High School on June 3, 1955.She married James Joseph Powers on November 29, 1958 in Las Vegas, Nevada and lived in Los Angeles before moving to Redding, CA., where they later divorced on February 27, 1975.Miki worked in Real Estate for many years, serving on the Real Estate Board of Directors in Redding, CA., as well as a Real Estate Loan Officer at First Interstate Bank, in Eugene, OR. She worked as a Human Resources Administrative Assistant for the University of Oregon for several years before retiring in April of 2002.She loved to sew, admire and display her son's art work, listen to her daughter sing and was very proud of her family. She was known for her "green thumb" and her beautiful quilts.She is survived by her son, Paul Joseph (Debra Marie) Powers of Creswell, OR., and her daughter, Ann Elizabeth (Andrew Oscar) Funke of Springfield, OR., five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Four sisters, Betty Aubrey of Oregon, Naomi Harrison of Fallon, NV., Kathy Cooper of Klamath Falls, OR.,& Penny Van Osdol of Pocatello, ID and two brothers, Kenny & David Richardson of Cottage Grove, OR.She was preceeded in death by her brother, Bobby Richardson, formerly of Cottage Grove, OR. and sister, Neila Obenchain, formerly of Montana.Memorial Contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Children's Fund.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary.
