Obituary of Joseph Wieczorek

Joseph V. Wieczorek, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, with family and friends by his side. Born January 5, 1926 to Joseph & Stephanie Wieczorek in Harvey, Illinois. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving his country for 20 years. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Pacific and witnessed the raising of the US flag in Iwo Jima. He later worked as safety engineer for Oregon Auto Insurance Co. , retiring in 1986. He is survived by his wife Laura, their 3 children and several grandchildren. Service will be at Westside Baptist Church on Thursday, May 16th At 11am. Visitation will be before the service at 10am. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial with family. Memorials may be made in Joseph's name to Westside Baptist Church, 1310 Echo Hollow Rd., Eugene, OR 97402.
