Obituary of Cherie Barnes

Cherie Ann Barnes, 75, of Lowell, OR died May 20, 2013 in her home. She was born on January 10, 1938 in Oregon City, OR to George and Arline (Oglesby) Wright. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1956 and attended Eugene Business College. She married Gordon Barnes on June 25, 1956 in Noti, OR. She worked in the accounting office at Pape' for 41 years and was the accounting manager at the time of her retirement in 2000. Cherie was a member of many local antique car clubs. She was a florist. She loved to garden, read and take walks. She loved animals and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Barnes of Lowell; a son, Robert Barnes and his wife Christi of Eugene; a sister, Susan Akers of Walla Walla, WA; a grandson, Jacob Knowlton of Eugene and two granddaughters, Hailey Knowlton and Emma Barnes both of Eugene. A brother, James Wright preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 24th at 10:00 am at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in her honor may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Springfield Memorial Funeral Home.
