Obituary of Carmen Johnson

Jean passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on May 15th, 2013 at the age of 81. She died of age related causes. There will be a visitation at 12pm Friday May 24th at the Musgrove Family Center. A funeral service will follow at 1pm. Committal will be at Alford Cemetery in Harrisburg, OR. when the service is complete. Jean was born July 31, 1931 in Elizabeth, Mississippi to Charles and Eliza Stephens. She moved out with her family in the 40’s to Junction City, OR. where she graduated from Junction City High School in 1949. Jean was married and divorced and has 4 children, Cheryl Gordon, Barbara Whitman, Terri Foran and Glenn Hewitt, 3 step daughters, Cindy, Shannon, Bonnie and her beloved best friend Sammie.She married Kermit Johnson in 1981 and was with him until he passed in 2010.Jean worked for Sacred Heart as a dietary aid, then a teacher’s aid at Willamette High School and sold Avon for 47 years. She was also a homemaker.Jean enjoyed horse racing, lucky 7, find a word, crocheting, crafting, duck football, Dancing with the Stars and American Idol. She came from a very musical family orientated background. She played piano, guitar, steel guitar and accordion.The best vacation of her life was going back to Mississippi in 1994 to the home where she was born and raised.Most of all, she made it her duty to make sure that all of her children were loved and taken care of. The greatest joys of Jean’s life were her 14 grandchildren and her 13 great grandchildren.Until we meet you again, we will always love and miss you.
