Obituary of Michael Martichuski

Michael Lee Martichuski was born in Duluth, Minnesota on May 27, 1949, to Walt and Irene (Saimaa) Martichuski. They moved to Oregon when he was three. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Susan Shearer. Mike passed away on May 17, 2013 after battling Multiple Myeloma for six years. Mike was: a science teacher at Central Linn High School for 30 years; a graduate of North Eugene High School (class of '67); a graduate of the Oregon College of Education ('76); a Master's degree recipient ('81); a baseball coach and player; a basketballer; a bowler; a camper; a cribbage fiend; a dog owner; a Donald Duck impersonator; a Finn; a fisherman; a football coach; a golfer; a poker shark; a softball coach; a wrestling coach; a woodworker; a "World Famous" spaghetti chef; a Ducks fan; an uncle to Grant, Claire, and Lily; a good friend; a devoted husband; and a beloved father. Mike's greatest passion was teaching. He was a man who believed in himself. He lived each moment to its fullest. He is survived by his wife Sue, his sons Eric & Damon, and dog Emma.
