Obituary of Eric Hawks

Eric C. Hawks passed away May 27, 2013 after battling a long illness. He was 54. Per Eric's wishes, there will be no formal funeral. A gathering of family and close friends will be held at a later date.Eric was born November 21, 1958 in Springfield, OR to Cleo and Veryl (Smith) Hawks. He was a graduate of Thurston High School, class of 1977. He attended the University of Oregon for two years and transferred to Portland State where he received his bachelor’s degree in business and finance. In August of 1992 he married Kelley Paulson. They were married for 10 years before they divorced.Eric started his career in banking after attending college on a US Bank scholarship. He was also a district manager for Reptron Electronic Distribution in Portland, OR for 12 years before he became a financial advisor.The “E-Bone” was an amazing cook and loved the culinary arts. He had a wonderful sense of humor, comedic ability, and loved to entertain friends and family. His other passions included golf, reading and gardening.Eric is survived by his mother Veryl Hawks of Eugene, OR; brother Michael (Diane) Hawks of Albany, OR; niece Rachel (Corey) Farrell of Portland, OR; nephew Brandon Hawks of Portland, OR.; grand-niece Norah Farrell of Portland, OR, a grand-nephew on the way, and girlfriend Terry McCoy of Portland, OR. Eric was preceded in death by his father Cleo who passed away in 1994.In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to the charity of your choice.Musgrove Family Mortuary is taking care of arrangements.
