Obituary of Garnett Archer

My dearest mother, Garnette Archer, passed away peacefully at home in Salem, OR, on May 25, 2013. Garnette was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma September 9, 1922 to Bertha ( Lewis) Crotser. She was raised by her grandmother and mother until they both passed away . Her grandmother died when Mom was 11 years of age. She was 16 when she lost her mother. Mom worked her way through school as a caretaker. She graduated from Blackwell High School in 1940 . Garnette met and married George J. Archer April 3, 1941. She was a homemaker. She loved to crochet, needle point, sew, paint paintings, but best of all she loved her family. Garnette had 11 children in all, 30 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. George J Archer Jr (Linda), Judith Archer, Teresa Lindseth (Clayton), John A. Archer (Donna), David Archer, Andrea Gonzales (Dave), Anna Mitchell (Bruce), Mike Archer, and Tony Archer (Erica). Mom and our father were divorced in the 1968. He died in 1981. 2 of her children are deceased before her, Elizabeth R ( Archer) Laudert and Dorris E (Archer) Elder. The funeral for Garnette Archer will be at 10am on June 1, 2013 at Lane Memorial Funeral Home, 5300 West 11th Avenue, Eugene, OR, 97402.
