Obituary of Erven Yoder

Erven “Erv” Yoder, Jr, died June 16, 2013 peacefully at his home in Lebanon, Ore.At his request his family gathered at a graveside service before he was laid to rest at Springfield Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Oregon.Erv was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Eugene, OR to Irvin Raymond Yoder, Sr. and Nadine (Reeves) Yoder.Early in life he married Charlotte Jones. The two were married for 13 years and together had a son and daughter, Scot and Loni.He later married Chris Thompson March 23, 1978. The two were married until his passing and together had two daughters, Misty and Mandy.He spent most of his life working in the timber industry. He ran heavy equipment for many area logging companies. When the Oregon timber industry took a turn Erv found work in Alaska. It wasn’t just the work that took him there. He loved everything Alaska offered. Often he’d return for the winter months to Oregon with pictures and stories of his time. He left the woods in 2007 and at the time was working for Hull and Oaks of Philomath Ore.He is survived by his wife Chris Yoder of Lebanon, Ore; son and daughter in law, Scott and Sheri Yoder of Lebanon, Ore; daughter Loni Ring of Sumter, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Leo Castellano of Sherwood, Ore; daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Danny Cervantez of Albany, Ore; “daughter” Sara Curr of Albany Ore; nine grandchildren; Alex Yoder, Kristen Townsend, Will Townsend all of Sumter SC; Kristopher Yoder and Michael Yoder of Independence, Ore; AJ Castellano and Jonas Castellano of Sherwood, Ore; Rebekah Cervantez and Analeah Cervantz of Albany, Ore; brothers Robert Yoder and Lee Wilke; sisters Patty Shady and Donna Theis.He was preceded in death by his father and mother and two brothers; Jerry Mullin and Cliff Yoder.Musgrove Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
