Obituary of Emma Hiatt

Emma C. Hiatt passed away June 21, 2013 from congestive heart failure. She was 96. A memorial service will take place June 29, 2013 at 1pm at the Fernridge Christian Church in Elmira, OR.Emma was born March 22, 1917 in Chadron, Nebraska to James and Jennie (Greenwood) Gorr. She received her business degree from Chadron State College. On November 5, 1946 she married Kenneth W. Hiatt in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was an administrative assistant in the banking industry.Emma is survived by her sons Kenneth Hiatt of Veneta, OR.; James Hiatt of Elmira, OR.; Jerry Hiatt of Eugene, OR.; and daughter Jan MacDonald of Heppner, OR.; close friend and caregiver Mary Thompson Beaver of Eugene, OR.; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Hiatt and brother Joseph Wendell Gorr. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Applegate Art Gallery in Veneta, OR., or Fernridge Christian Church in Elmira, OR.Musgroves is taking care of the arrangements.
