Obituary of David W. Smith

David W. Smith of Springfield, died September 3, 2012 of cancer. He was 55. A Memorial was held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the New Life Church, 2080 North 19th Street, Springfield, OR.David was born October 17, 1956, in Springfield, to Ronald and Mary Lou (Millus) Smith. He attended Springfield public schools and was a 1974 graduate of Springfield High School. David was self-employed as a finish carpenter and a builder. He was known throughout the industry for his high quality work. David was generous with his time and skills to anyone who needed a helping hand. When not working he enjoyed bowling, watching football and baseball. He also was part of a pit crew for an Indy style racing team. He loved the outdoors and of course this carpentry work.Survivors include his father Ronald Smith of Hines, OR and his mother Mary Lou Bralley of Springfield, OR; a brother, Jeffrey Smith and a sister Rhonda Potter both of Springfield.Remembrances to the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute or the Jasper Assembly of God Church.
