Obituary of Clariece Frederick
Clariece Ann (Wise) Frederick, fondly called “Cle,” passed away June 25, 2013 of Myelodysplasia. She was born July 9, 1927 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Clarence Melvin and Lorene Lillian (Myers) Wise. Her family moved to Oregon where she graduated from Springfield Union High School in 1945. She met Dale Weston Frederick at the Eugene W.O.W Hall and, after a short engagement, married on January 30, 1949. They had two children. Cle worked as a Lumber Secretary at Zip-O-Log Mills in Eugene for 28 years before retiring in 1992. She had quite the social calendar and enjoyed traveling, singing in her church choir, spending time with her family and friends and watching the Duck games. Cle was an active member of Emerald Baptist Church for 59 years, the Symphony Guild, the Friendship Club, and the Spa. She also had season tickets to the Hult Center and the Very Little Theatre. Cle is preceded in death by her husband, Dale, son, “Wes”, and brother, Donald C. Wise. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kristine and Rick Klohn of Eugene, OR, four grandchildren: Matthew Klohn of Indianapolis, IN, Morgan and Mariah Klohn of Eugene, OR and Airman First Class Mallory Klohn stationed in Great Falls, MT, her sister-in-law, Norma Dean Wise, and nine nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held at the Lane Memorial Gardens on July 5th from 11am to 2pm with interment to follow. A memorial service will be held at Emerald Baptist Church on 19th and Patterson in Eugene on July 6th at 1pm.
