Obituary of Evelyn Moore

Evelyn Moore died peacefully at her West Linn home on July 11, 2013 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Eugene, Oregon February 19, 1923 to Norman D. Pohll and Mildred (Hopper) Pohll. After her mothers death in 1926, her father married Beryl D. (Fowler) Pohll and they were independent grocers in Eugene. She attended early school in Creswell while living with her grandparents and completed her education at Eugene High. Evelyn married Alwin D. Moore February 12, 1944 and they later became active in the family grocery business Pohll's Market. Later they owned and operated Bi-More Market in Springfield. Al and Evelyn later became active in the real estate business, for many years as Al Moore Realty. Always active at Grace Lutheran Church, Evelyn also was a past President of the Oregon District LWML representing them at the national convention in Pittsburg, PA in1961. She was always the family caregiver and loved her extended family and friends. Her 90th birthday party in February was attended by almost all of the family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, her sister Mildred, her brother Norman and her parents. She is survived by her brother Lester Pohll; her daughter Marge Gerimonte and son Marvin Moore (Becky); four grandchildren: Todd Gerimonte, Tana Landerdahl (Peter), Charles Moore (Kari), and Louis Moore; and six great-grandchildren: Trey, Ella, Will, Lena, John and Kiana. A private interment will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery with a Memorial service at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 27 at 1 pm and reception following.
