Obituary of Anita Lyngard

Anita Lyngard passed away peacefully on July 25, 2013 at the age of 92 of age related causes. Anita was born on August 8, 1920 in Neola, Iowa to Niels and Henrietta Nielsen. She married Victor Lyngard on August 10, 1943 in Neola, Iowa. Anita and Victor with their three children moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1956. She was dedicated to family, friends, God and church. Anita enjoyed entertaining friends, church activities and playing card games. Anita was an avid Oregon football and basketball fan. She was a member of Danish Brotherhood Lodge #348 and loved her Danish heritage. She is survived by her three children, Gene Lyngard of Eugene, Oregon, Joyce Jorgensen (Chuck) of Blair, Nebraska and Jan Lusk (Gary) of Hillsboro, Oregon, five grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Anita is also survived by one brother, Kent Nielsen (Una Mae) of Council Bluffs, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, her brother Raymond Nielsen, her sister Martha Peterson and one niece Mary Ann Miller. The family would like to acknowledge special services provided by Anna Christensen and Maggie Ball as well as the Sacred Heart Hospice Care Program. Memorial contributions may be given to Bethesda Lutheran Church. Gifts will be given equally to Bethesda Lutheran Church and Danish Brotherhood Lodge #348. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 4445 Royal Avenue, Eugene, Oregon. A private inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.
