Obituary of Charles Shepherd

Charles A Shepherd, 90 passed away June 15th, 2013 peacefully with his family in Eugene, OR. He was born October 20th, 1922 in Kirksville, MO to Nick & Jessie Shepherd. He spent most of his life in Medford, Klamath Falls, Bend & Eugene, OR. he married Jean Benson & had three children, they later divorced and he then married Faye Kelley in 1974 in Medford, OR. Chuck served in the military from 1940-1945 during World War II in the South Pacific; where he received a silver star and two bronze stars then was honorably discharged in 1945. He later was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the National Guard in 1950. After his years of service he went into sales with several companies, including Scott Supply for 17 years. Chuck was a life member of the Elks Lodge 378 and a member of the Berean Baptist church. He loved sports and lettered in all 5 sports in high school. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Faye of 39 years; Children: Craig Shepherd, Susan Romano (Pete), Nancy Smythe (Tom), Steve Kelley (Denise), Susan Ellis; 8 grand children, 6 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister in law Zona Shepherd, and cousin Bobby Shepherd(Velma)Predeceased by parents: Nick & Jessie Shepherd; brother Nick J. Shepherd.Viewing will be Thursday, June 20th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at West Lawn Memorial Funeral Home, 225 S.
