Obituary of Karen Hawks

Karen Hawks of Cottage Grove passed away on September 25, 2013. She was born in Eugene, OR to John and Glenna Lanini.She went to Coburg Elementary and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1969. She married Paul Hawks on July 12, 1969. She worked in banking over 20 years and was the secretary for family businesses for another 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers.She is survived by husband Paul of Cottage Grove; mother Glenna Mishler of Eugene; daughter Jennifer (Donald) Twombley and granddaughter Stephanie Hawks-Twombley of Eugene; and siblings Sandra Hunt of Coburg, Don Lanini of Springfield, Dennis Lanini of Eugene, Beth Clark of Curtin, and Curt Lanini of Sweet Home.She was proceeded in death by father John Lanini and son Jeffrey Hawks.There will be a public viewing on Monday, September 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lane Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 1, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Lane Memorial Gardens.Arrangements entrusted to Lane Memorial Funeral Home.
