Obituary of Daniel Jennings

Daniel Jennings of Eugene, Oregon, age 90, died on October 6, 2013. He was born on September 30, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA, to Daniel & Alice (Jennings) Hernandez.A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 26th at 2:00 PM at Willamette Christian Center.Daniel lived in Los Angeles until he went into the army in 1941. He spent three years in the Army Signal Corps, attached to the Air Force. After WWII ended and he was discharged from the Army, he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he met his wife, Lillian. They were married in Santa Fe in 1948.He worked for Mountain States Telephone Company until going to work on the DEW line in Northern Canada in 1956. He moved to San Mateo, CA., in 1958, where he lived for 30 years. He worked for Lenkurt Electric Company from 1958 to 1981. While working there he designed a telephone system for Disney World in Florida, as well as traveling extensively for the company. He retired in 1981 to attend St. James College in San Bruno, CA., where he went into Christian Ministry in 1985, becoming a Christian Counselor for Church of the Highlands in San Mateo.Daniel enjoyed flying small aircraft, as well as being a train buff. He and his wife moved to Eugene, OR., in 1994.Survivors include his wife, a son, David Jennings of Lynnwood, WA., two daughters, Patricia Greig and Katherine Harbour both of Eugene, OR., eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister Hope Plummer of Whittier, CA.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
