Obituary of Magdalene Pachl
Magdalene “Maggie” Pachl, 86, of Springfield, OR, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Marquis in Springfield. Maggie's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at St. Alice's Catholic Church in Springfield with Fr. Mark Bentz as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in South Heart, ND later this year. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 9th from 3 to 5 p.m. at Springfield Memorial Funeral Home and Friday, May 10th at St. Alice’s Catholic Church at 9 am. with a rosary following at 10:30 am. Maggie was born May 26, 1932 on the family farm south of South Heart. She was one of seven children born to Valentine and Mary (Dolechek) Kuntz. She was raised on the family farm and attended Hilltop School until the eighth grade. Maggie and Albert were married on September 9, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in South Heart. They lived in South Heart where they raised their family and in 1982, moved to La Grande, OR, then Kent, WA, before retiring in Springfield in 1999. Maggie was a member of St. Pius Verein in Schefield, ND. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Dudok, also known as Durok, pinochle, and jigsaw puzzles. She volunteered at St. Alice making quilts and preparing lunches. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and baking. Her poppyseed kolaches and sour cream raisin pie always brought smiles. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Maggie is survived by her children Albert Jr. and Doreen, grandchildren Jennifer and Al Chacano, great-grandchildren Trisha and Chantel and great-great grandchild Lila; Becky and Chris Sayler, great-grandchildren Samantha and Cody Warren, Christopher, and Brittney; Laura, great-grandchildren Journey, Elle, and Emry; Susan and Justin Semarad, great-grandchildren Abigail, Taily, Gracie, and McKinzie; John and Valerie, great-grandchildren Wesley and Jeanette; Albert III and Jessica great-grandchildren Brooke and Eve. Paulette Dutchak, grandchildren Beth and Ryan Friesner, great-grandchild Gavin; Bev and Grant Leffler, great-grandchild Adler; and Barry. Paul and Pat, grandchildren Clint and Jen, great-grandchildren Priya and Remy; Jodi, great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Chase. Dennis and MJ, grandchildren Sheila and Mike Belland, great-grandchildren Dalton, Avery, and Jace; Sheri and Greg Peters, great-grandchildren Rayden, Kynaston, Brezlyn, and Elkan; Shelly and Dave Hanson, great-grandchildren Ethan and River; and Sheryl and Korey Kautzman. Dean and Mary, grandchildren Dawn, Amanda and Tony Brillante, great-grandchildren Baillie and Tony Jr.; and Dean Jr. and Desiree, great-grandchildren Delaney and Danilee. Grace and Robert Riggs, grandchildren Nathan and Ian. She is also survived by her siblings, Dorothy Dukart, Rochester, MN, August and Florence Kuntz, New England, ND and Peter Kuntz, South Heart, sisters-in-law Bertha Kuntz, Bismarck, ND, Leona Pachl, Apache Junction, AZ, Mary Pachl, Vancouver, WA, Rose Pachl, Helena, MT, Madonna Pachl, Dickinson, ND, and Lois Kuntz, Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert and daughter, Gayle Calishire, parents, Valentine and Mary, two sisters, Otilla and Darlene; and two brothers, John and Arnold.
