Obituary of Gordon Fish

Gordon Russell Fish was born May 28, 1926, to Maywood and Ruth Fish in Eugene, Oregon. He passed away November 2, 2013 of cancer at the age of 87.Gordon graduated from high school in Twin Falls, Idaho. He served as a signalman in the US Navy during WW II. He married Mina Catherine Zebley in Eugene, Oregon, on June 4, 1950. They had three sons. He was a professional cabinetmaker and worked for the University of Oregon until his retirement in 1987. Gordon was a lifelong member of the Spencer Butte Odd Fellows Lodge, and an avid stamp collector. Besides stamps, he loved reading, music, camping, and travel. He was also an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, in Eugene.He is survived by his sons Russ (Carolynne) and Dale (Nancy) - all of Eugene, Randy (Sheryl) of Beaverton, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Mina and granddaughter Heidi. There will be a viewing at Musgroves Family Mortuary in Eugene on Wednesday, 11/6, between 1 - 5pm. A memorial service for Gordon will held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Friday, 11/8, at 2 pm.
