Obituary of Dorothy Plummer

Our mom passed away on the evening of October 3, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Dorothy was born in Sierra Madre, CA. and spent most of her life in the Eugene-Springfield area. She married John H. Plummer after graduating from Springfield High School in 1945. After more then sixty years of marriage John preceded her in death in 2009, she was also preceded in death by a grandson David.Dorothy was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother. As her children grew, she went to beauty school and eventually owned two salons in the Springfield area. After retirement, she volunteered many hours helping people with their taxes.Dorothy loved playing cards and you could always find her baking deserts to serve at her weekly card parties.Dorothy is survived by her sister Alice Bivens of Cedar Flats and her two sons, John and Lani Plummer and Bill and Lydia Plummer, both of Eugene, as well as five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.Dorothy will be greatly missed by family and friends. A memorial for Dorothy will be held on November 9th at 11:30 a.m. at the Daneland Mobile Home Park's recreation center.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
