Obituary of Luevenia Shankle

Luevenia Viola Shankle, 83 years young, resident of Eugene Oregon, was called home to be with the Lord, November 29, 2013.Luvenia Shankle was born May 10, 1930 to Kent and Viola Newton of Geary, Oklahoma. She left Geary OK in 1950 to set trails in Oregon.In 1954, after one week of courting she married the late Reverend Arthur J. Shankle; their union lasted 57 years.Luvenia Shankle helped her husband pastor two churches; Bethel Temple Faith Ministries in Eugene OR. for over 48 years and Salem Mission in Salem Oregon. She was a mother, a Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. She loved to laugh, fellowship, take pictures, watch Big Valley and The Word Channel on television, cook, read the Bible, and praise God! She will surely be missed.Luvenia Shankle is survived by her daughter, Michelle Brown & son-in-law Samuel Brown of Eugene, Oregon, her son Ronald Shankle of Eugene, Oregon, 1 sister, 3 brothers, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.Proceeding her in death: Her beloved “Honey” Reverend A.J. Shankle, and brother Ervin Wilson.Funeral Services will be on Saturday, December 14th at 12:00 at First Christian Church.
