Obituary of Barbara Mabel Blacksten

Barbara passed on December 26, 2013 at her home. She was born on March 29, 1920 in Ketchum, ID to Arnold E. McCoy and Mabel Obenchain. She was the oldest of four children. She grew up in Ketchum, ID and attended high school in Mountain Home, ID where she met Maurice Dean Blacksten. They were married in Ketchum on June 11, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was a school cook for Springfield School District for many years. She retire in 1977 and they moved to Bend. She returned to this area in 2005. She and Dean had two children, Sharon R. Wilson and David B. Blacksten (wife Sonya). Also five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Her family is grateful to the nurses of Sacred Heart Hospice. A service for Barbara will be held at St. John Episcopal Church, 2537 Game Farm Road, on December 30, 2013 at 1:30pm. Arrangements entrusted to Springfield Memorial Funeral Home.
