Obituary of Margaret Harter

Margaret Harter of the Eugene/Springfield area, passed away at home with her husband Charlie by her side after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with cancer. She was born July 13, 1948 in Eugene, OR to Frank Lewis Lane and Mary Beth Lane. She is now with God and free of pain and enjoying the blessings of heaven with her mom and dad.Survivors include husband Charlie Harter, married 48 years, 9 months and 9 days. Also her sons Bret (Darlene), Jason (Crista), Kelly Skipper (Mary) and daughter Brooke Wagner (Bill). Her siblings Mary Curtis (Jim), George Lane and Louise Groomer (Bill).She worked many different jobs through-out her life including being a school cook, Barrett Business Services account specialist but the last 6 years of her working were spent with the City of Eugene as the Mayor’s assistant and council support, and she loved it!Margaret has been described many times as having a huge presence and wonderful laugh. She loved her husband, children and especially loved being with her grandchildren Ellison (10), Harper (8), Tennyson (5), Finley (3) and Lawson (2). She also had a special place in her heart for Kaelen (14) and Darius (12) Skipper.A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 @ 2:00 pm at St. Matthews Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Willamette Valley Cancer Institute. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Funeral Home.
