Obituary of Daphne Joyce Villers
VILLERS: Daphne Joyce. It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Daphne Villers announces her passing at the Assiniboine Centre on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the age of 75 years. Daphne is survived by her husband of 55 years John; sons John (Yvonne), Mike (Heather), Tim (Michelle), and Dave (Wanda); and grandchildren Russ, Nicole, David, Ryan, Brittany, Mathew, Brayden, and Brooke. She was predeceased by her parents and two sisters. Daphne was born on May 16, 1937, in Russell, MB, and in her early days lived on the farm with her family and 11 siblings. She moved to Brandon where she worked at the Brandon Mental Hospital as a psychiatric nurse for 35 years. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #247 and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary, where she held various positions during her time of service. Some of Daphne's favorite things were sewing, cooking, baking, playing video games, and family was most important to her. Mass to celebrate Daphne's life will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 327-4th Street, on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Jorge Mante as Celebrant with luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Daphne may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 327- 4th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 3E5.
