Obituary of Linda Jean Zarry
ZARRY: Linda Jean of Brandon and Minnedosa, beloved wife of Leonard, and loving mother of Xanthe and Zak, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Center on September 5, 2012 at the age of 65 years. She also leaves to mourn her sisters Shirley and Glenna as well as her niece, Catherine. Linda's love and generosity knew no bounds. She was adored by family and friends alike. Linda left a world of pain and suffering behind, but also left a legacy of precious memories. She loved to attend church regularly, and found solace while at St. Alphonsus Church in Minnedosa, and then later at St. Augustine's Church in Brandon. While at the hospital, she provided her nurses with trays of treats, and offered words of comfort and encouragement to other patients, including giving them teddy bears. Among her many supporters were those from the CNIB, from the Home Care team, and close friends Cathy, Marion and Julia. Special mention must go to Glenna for her much appreciated help at home and at the hospital during Linda's ordeals. At our acreage near Minnedosa, Linda enjoyed the quiet serenity there, especially while rocking on the front porch swing. She loved to plant flowers, and at one time, kept a garden. She was an avid reader before losing much of her sight, and she enjoyed music, one of her favorite artists being Susan Boyle. Her pets were a constant source of emotional support, especially a small calico cat called Punky, Colored Mouse. Linda loved to organize parties with themes such as aliens, the old grey mares, St. Patrick's Day, and most recently, Jill's Hawaiian birthday party which was held right at the hospital. We're sure Linda is organizing another get together right now, one with a heavenly theme! We would like to pay tribute to Dr Riche, and again thank Father James deBeer for celebrating the funeral Mass. Donations in memory of Linda may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Unit A1-800 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, MB, R7A 6N5.
Travel safe as you walk past us,
My hand remains extended towards the sky,
Even the mountains and seas seem quiet,
As the world is sad and time ticks by.
