Obituary of Bob Fuller

Bob Fuller of Springfield, Oregon passed away on January 21, 2014 of natural causes at the age of 94. He was born April 8, 1919, in New York to Clarence and Else (Woldby) Fuller and moved to Oregon in the late 1940s.He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 during World War II as a Fire Control Instructor, attaining the rank of Fire Controlman First Class (T). After his discharge, he worked in several different jobs until he discovered banking in 1948. After 33 successful years in this career, he retired from his position as loan officer and Vice President of First Interstate Bank in Springfield.Dad was passionate about leading an active, productive lifestyle. He was a weightlifter and body builder his entire adult life. He enjoyed all outdoor activities and whatever he tried, he did well. He was a proficient swimmer and an enthusiastic hiker and mountain climber. He played tennis, bowled and, in later years, golfed with his friends at every opportunity. Throughout his life, he also enjoyed woodworking, music, poetry, singing, and writing short stories.Our father was enthusiastic about life and enjoyed meeting new people and learning new things. He inspired a love of all physical activities and educational pursuits and encouraged everyone to explore and experience life to their fullest potential. He is survived by his five children, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.Dad was an active member of the community, contributing as a member of the Springfield Kiwanis Club through which he spent many hours promoting and building Sky Camp in Fall Creek, Oregon.
