Obituary of Kevin Kayl
Kevin Robert Kayl was born to Dorothy Ann and Robert Joseph Kayl on November 1, 1966, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon. He passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2014, at his home in Veneta, Oregon at the age of 47.After graduating from Sheldon High School, Kevin started Lock-Up Mini Storage in partnership with his parents. Started in 1989 it was the first mini-storage in Veneta and he managed it until his death.Although he was modest in physical stature, Kevin was large in presence and spirit, announcing his arrival with a booming voice and infectious smile. He was well-known and valued in his community, always happy to take time for a conversation and never too busy for visiting with friends and neighbors.Kevin had few hobbies, but he loved to crab. The only time he was likely to run was to catch a ride to go crabbing. He never quite grasped the concept of picking up a crab from behind to avoid the pinchers-he would pick them up straight on, within easy reach of their claws, and yet he never got pinched. Somehow the crabs knew he was off limits.Keven is survived by his four sibling, Steve Kayl, Karen Forster, Jeff Kayl, and Scott Kayl, along with four nephews, three nieces and 10 grandnieces and nephews.Kevin was our brother and our friend, with a heart of gold and a kind soul. He will truly fly with angels.According to Kevin's wishes, only a private family service will be held in his memory, but we ask that you hold him in your thoughts and prayers.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
