Obituary of Frederick "Fred" Parks
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Frederick Coleman Parks; husband, Dad, Granddad and great Granddad, April 14, 2012 in his 96th year with his family at his side. Left to hold his memory dear is his sweetheart Evelyn May (Rabe), his girls; Maxine (Mel), Donna (Jack), Sharon (Brian) and Bonnie (Doug-deceased). Plus eleven treasured grandchildren, Mark & Melanie, Christie, Gary & Denise, Megan, Bridgette, Lindsey & Patrick, Adrienne & Todd; and also ten great grandchildren – Shelby & Samara, Keri-Lynne & Chad, Liam, Jordan, Loughlin & Ailish, Georgia, Charlotte, and nephew Gene. Dad was predeceased by his sister Ida, brother Jack and nephew Gary.
Dad was born in 1916 in Carnduff Sk, raised in Cookstown Ont, and settled in Alexander in 1934, were he and Mom spent their lives farming and raising their family. He took great pride in his farm, he enjoyed fishing, curling, golf, ham radio, building and flying model airplanes, reading and spending the winters in Arizona.
At Dad's request there will be no service. A private family internment will be followed by a tea at River Heights Terrace on April 21st from 2 – 4 PM. The family would be honoured if you joined us for this celebration of his life. Donations in Dad's honour to Fairview and a special thanks to the 3rd floor.
