Obituary of Grace Winnifred Page

Grace Page (née Town) 1919-2011. Mrs. Grace Page beloved mother, passed away at Dinsdale Personal Care Home on Monday, October 10, 2011, five days short of her 92nd birthday. Grace was born on October 15, 1919 in Brandon, the fifth of eight children. Grace was married in 1941, and while her husband Albert served overseas Grace gave birth to a daughter and worked at McKenzie Seeds. After the war, they took up residence in Brandon and two more children were born. From 1962-1975 she co-owned and operated Chicken Delight on Rosser with her husband. Grace loved travelling, golfing and family events. She was a long time member of the Golf & Country club. Grace was predeceased by her husband in 2007, after 65 years of marriage, and also by her grandson Brian Seamer. She is survived by her daughter,Valerie (Rex) DeBar of Panama Beach City, Florida, son Raymond (Mary) Page of Brandon, daughter Maureen "Kit" (Don) Thompson of Winnipeg. Grandchildren, Troy Thompson (Sheila), Sean Page, Tiffany (Chris) Westdal. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Madison, Abigail and Carter Westdal, sister Stella Mosey, brother Robert (Betty) Town, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Grace's life will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. with Brockie Donovan Funeral Celebrant Mr. Lawrence McInnes officiating. Donations in memory of Grace may be made to the Salvation Army, 9 Princess Ave, Brandon, MB, R7A 1R8 or to a charity of choice.
