Obituary of Edith Traynor

Edith Marie Traynor passed away February 5, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital of natural causes. She was born April 10, 1916 in Wichita, Kansas to Lulu May and Raymond Newman. She married William Traynor May 23, 1937 and moved to Los Angeles, where they started their family. In 1954 they moved to Eugene, Oregon.Edith worked for the Eugene School District as secretary for Howard Elementary for 21 years then was substitute for 3 more years. After retiring in 1978 she pursued her many outside interests of travel to Europe and Asia, family, genealogy, photography and reading.Edith is survived by a daughter Carolyn Olson and her husband Larry of Eugene, and son William and his wife Jan of Spokane, WA, four grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years in 2005. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, past President of Oregon Association of Educational Secretaries, and Life Member of National Educational Secretaries.A Memorial will be held later in the spring.
