Obituary of Clifford Nelson Munro

MUNRO: Clifford Nelson Munro of Brandon, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on December 11th, 2010 at the age of 97 years . Clifford was born on June 10th, 1913. He was born on a farm in Croll, Manitoba to Neil and Mary Munro. Siblings Hector, Norman, Sam, Marion Facey, Lillian Mennie and Jean Adams predeceased him. He is survived by his sister Teresa Chambers, who is 100 years old, from Boissevain. Clifford attended Primrose school in Boissevain, MB. His favorite sport growing up was baseball. He met Sadie Black and they were married on November 8th, 1939. God blessed them with four children, Beverly H. Munro of Surrey, BC, Barbara A. Pasechnik of Wakarusa, Indiana, Kenneth W. Munro of Yorba Linda, CA, and Murray G. Munro of Brandon. He farmed for a number of years, until he was able to get a job with the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1938. He worked for the railway until he retired in 1975. He loved and had a good memory for poetry virtually all of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Clifford also liked to take his family on picnics and camping throughout the summers. Every winter for 20 years, he and Sadie went to Yuma, Arizona to get away from the cold Manitoba winters. He was very health orientated and walked five miles a day until he was 92. He attended the Worldwide Church of God since 1970 and made many friends over the years in Canada and the United States. He will be greatly missed by his wife Sadie, his children and their spouses, Bev and Marion, Barb and Dave, Ken and Denise, Murray and Cheryl, his grandchildren, Jann Niblock, Sarah Munro, Tammy Hinton, Pamela Balch, and Daniel Pasechnik; and eleven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held at Central United Church, 327-8th Street, Brandon, on Thursday, December 23rd, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Foster officiating. Donations in memory of Clifford, may be made to HCJB Global, 3-44 Saltsman Drive, Cambridge, ON N3H 4R7. He supported and loved the work of their ministry around the world.
