Obituary of June Linne Bollman
BOLLMAN: June Linne Bollman, beloved wife of Franklin Bollman, passed away at her residence, Fairview Home, on August 19, 2010 at the age of 87 years. June was born in Vancouver, B.C. on June 10, 1923 to Charles (Karl) and Olga Oklund. She grew up in the Willoughby district of Langley Municipality and later moved to Salt Spring Island as her father was employed in the logging industry. June attended school in Duncan, B.C., at Willoughby and High School in Langley, B.C. She was employed during the war at the Canadian Pacific Aeroplane repair depot near New Westminster. June married Frank Bollman on November 26, 1946 and returned to live on his father's land at Moline, Manitoba. They soon became proud parents to Raymond Douglas Bollman and Elaine Almira Bollman. They attended school at Moline and Rivers, and then went on to university. June was active in the 4H Clothing Club later as 4H Assistant in the Minnedosa and Neepawa Agricultural Representative Areas. She was also a member of the Moline Women's Institute and she took an active part in the District and Provincial W.I. activities. As they raised Shorthorn Cattle, she joined the Shorthorn Lassie Auxiliary which promoted the breed and sponsored a young lady to attend Manitoba Agricultural Fairs. June later became active as Secretary for this organization. Frank and June retired to Brandon in 1985. They often visited their daughter Elaine in The Pas, and their son Raymond in Ottawa with grandchildren Eric and MifAnne. June was predeceased by her Father and Mother. She is survived by her husband, daughter, son and two grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, Brandon, on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. The service will be conducted by June's nephew, Wayne Bollman. Interment will take place at the Pettapiece Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fairview Home Foundation, 1351-13th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 4S6 or to a charity of choice.
