Hi Janice
Just wanted you to know how I admired your Dad. His kindness was above all a memorable thing. I remeber when my dad died when I was in Grade 5 your Dad comforted me by saying how sorry he was and then gave me a hug. Your Dad accepted whatever life threw at him with tremendous grace and dignity. A fantastic role model and champion of life Sue Henry

I receive the Brandon Sun handed down to me from my in-laws and just noticed that Bill had passed away. I was just a young green 17 year old kid out of high school when Bill gave me my first job in 1967 as a bookkeeper helper for his business Brandon Welding Supplies on 9th, .
I remember Bill as being a fair person and wonderful with customers. His sense of humor had an edge to it but it was never out of line. He just loved the repartee with customers and the playful jabs back and forth. He was suave and carried himself with professionalism and pride. I still remember how proud he was of the clever play on the red "e" when he changed the company name to Ready Oxygen. Bill never complained and was always there to help when anyone needed it. Now over 40 years later, I have my own accounting practice and notice that I use a lot of the skills that Bill taught me knowingly and unknowingly. I especially notice that in my rapport with clients and have not really given it much thought until I read Bill's obituary.
I am thankful to you Bill for giving a young boy a chance and really enjoyed those formative years working with you, Ken, Ed, Harold, Lloyd, Wayne and others that I forget with my apologies. I know he was a wonderful father and I offer my condolences to his children and their families.

Mark and Cheryl - Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your father/father-in-law. I was pleased to have known Bill since 1976 when I moved into 40 Almond and became Bill's neighbour. We would often have conversations across the fence and I would, biannually, get Bill's permission to pick the apples from the branches of the tree that hung over into my yard. :-) I could never get over Bill's never-ending energy. I felt he would be around forever! Alas, he slipped away from his mortal ties. He was a wonderful man, and I will remember him fondly. May it comfort you to know that many will miss him.

Mark,
Please accept condolences on behalf of Jada and I. We hope you, Cheryl, your sisters and families the best during this difficult time.
Bill had very significant impact on me as a boy growing up, later as we grew up and what I took away from Bill still impacts me today. Your dad was the first adult that I ever called by their first name. I remember coming to call on you every school day as a boy on our way to elementary school and Bill welcoming me and our friends with his familiar "hello men". I loved it! Bill always made us feel like we were men. He always engaged us in adult conversations and never treated us like young boys but as young men and we tried our best to behave like young men around him. I treat my son's friends the same way using Bill as an example and almost always greet them at the door with "hello men".
Bill was among the sharpest wits and driest sense of humor of anyone I ever met. You always had to be on your toes around him in order to keep up...and this was true a couple of years ago the last time we met at the shop.
I will also remember what a loving & caring person Bill was. He consistently gave of himself. The care and love he bestowed upon your mother, sisters and you was remarkable and something that again impressed me from when I was a young boy until today.
Bill was the one of the most interesting people I ever met from the snappy wardrobe to the interest in pigeons....remember all the magazines with pigeon eyes on the cover around your home and all the interesting record albums...
Truly a remarkable person and a life well lived.
All the best,
Vahid L. Aidun
