Obituary of Arnold Clifford Mattice

MATTICE: Arnold Clifford Mattice of Brandon passed away peacefully at his residence, Fairview Home, on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the age of 100 years young. Arnold was born in Cornwall, Ontario where he spent his younger years attending school. In the early 30's, he moved with his family to Saskatchewan where they farmed until moving to the Neepawa area. He met and married Phoebe Hutton in Neepawa in 1939. They farmed in various areas around Neepawa, Carberry and Kenton. During those years, Arnold and Phoebe were blessed with four children, Donald, Jerry, Glen and Gayle. In 1964, they moved to Brandon where Arnold enjoyed working as a custodian at the First Presbyterian Church until 1983 when he retired. In his retirement, Arnold loved his gardening and was a big fan of hockey and baseball on the tube. Arnold will be fondly remembered by his four children. He was predeceased by his wife Phoebe in August, 2009. In keeping with Arnold's wishes, cremation will take place and he will be laid to rest with his parents in Neepawa.
