Obituary of Dixie Sherman

Dixie Dee Lucas Sherman was born May 18, 1933 to Charles and Marion (Graham) Lucas in Boise City, OK and died in Eugene February 10, 2014 at the age of 80. She married Ward Sherman in Eugene on August 29, 1953. Dixie spent many hours volunteering for Western Rivers Girl Scout Council, FISH and had a special place in her heart for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lane County. She was a member of Dayspring Fellowship, enjoyed music and sang in Sweet Adelines and other choruses. Surviving her are two daughters: Valerie Davis and her husband Dan of Bend; and Victoria Perkins, her husband Perry and granddaughter Grace of Tualatin. Also surviving is her former husband Ward Sherman and his wife Darlene, cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday February 22, 2014 at the Musgrove Family Center, 1152 Olive Street in Eugene.
