I am so sorry for your loss Sharon. "Mr. Brown" was genuinely liked and respected by my self and my siblings growing up, such a resonant voice, a presence, but always a smile and a twinkle in his eye for the kids. He was a really nice person, and he was appreciated by all.

Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss, Sharon. He was my boss at Scott National when we first got married and moved to Brandon and I couldn't have asked for a nicer boss. We have met him off and on over the years, and for the past many years, as neighbours. He always greeted people with a smile and his wit was unparalleled. He could pull a smart remark from any conversation and you always had a laugh with him. He was a great man.

Such a kind, caring person, my condolences to the Brown Family. As a youngster playing for the Cloverleafs, I referred to him as Mr. Brown, but "Browny" wanted nothing to do with the Mr. On a regular basis he would pack us into his station wagon, hit the side roads, telling stories and jokes until we reached the tournament or scheduled game. He was like a father away from home. Brownie will always be with us!

I have known Lloyd for 48 years through my involvement with Lloyd through the Kiwanis Club of Brandon. Lloyd should have been a politician as he knew everybody and greeted people with a pat on the back with a friendly greeting. I especially enjoyed Lloyd's quick humor. I recall at one of our regular Tuesday Kiwanis luncheons at Brandon University I said to Lloyd the soup was very good. He immediately replied " It sounds good".
Sharon, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I will miss Lloyd greatly.

Condolences to the family:
When Lloyd worked for Scott Fruit he stopped at my family's cafe in Birtle. I was a young teenager and he always brought his Ball Glove and had time to play catch. I left Birtle in the mid 60s to join the RCMP. I never saw him again but always will remember him as a real gentleman who always had time to chat etc. I really enjoyed his interview for the MB Baseball Hall of Fame.
Lloyd Hickman RCMP retired.

I have so many memories of being picked up or dropped off at the airport by Uncle Lloyd and spending the night with him and Aunt Sharon. Or going into Brandon for the day and stopping by for a visit and a cold beverage in the sunroom. He was a lovely man and a fine example of how people should be and how they treat others. His family was beyond fortunate to have him!

Lloyd was a true gentleman and a great competitor. I can't recall an occasion when I ever heard anyone say anything but compliments and admiration for the man. This comes from an Ex Riverside Canuck who fought tooth and nail with Lloyd's Brandon Cloverleafs on many occasions. Bruce & Sandi Gullett
