Obituary of Kenneth Farset
Kenneth Farset passed away peacefully on February 16, 2014 at the age of 95. Ken was born in Centralia, Washington on January 3, 1919 to Marcus and Ida Farset. He traveled the world while serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He loved to share his many stories about his time serving his country. He married the love of his life and best friend Betty Wood on June 29, 1946. Together they owned Springfield Auto Wreckers, before retiring and traveling to Arizona every winter. Ken’s hobbies included fishing and hunting. He took many trips to Canada for guided hunting trips. He was an avid player of shuffle board and won many tournaments while in Arizona. He had a love of gardening and enjoyed spending time in his yard. He and Betty built a life together, filled with love and happiness. Ken is survived by his wife Betty and their son Greg (Carrie), grandchildren Crystal, Steve (Rebecca), Marcus, and special family friend Cory Farstad all of Eugene and Springfield area. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Francis. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
