Obituary of Ellen Ching

Ellen K. Y. Ching was born July 24, 1929 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Allen L. Ching and Lani Yap. She graduated from the University of Hawaii and earned her masters in Library Science from Peabody University in Tennessee. Ellen was the librarian at North Eugene High School for many years. Ms. Ching had polio as a one year old and her entire life used two crutches, which she lovingly named “Bonnie and Clyde”.She is survived by her sister Jeanette Ching ofCleveland, Ohio and her niece Marla Kawamoto and nephew Lloyd Chong both of Honolulu. Hawaii. Ellen was an amazing personality with more “I can do it” than most of us will ever muster.At Ellen’s request there will be no service. Donations may be made in her name to either the Eugene Library Association, Food for Lane County or Habitat fo Humanity.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
