Obituary of Mary Briggs

Mary E Briggs of Crow died February 15, 2014 of age related causes at 92. She was born July 3, 1921 in Crow, Oregon on the homestead of her grandparents to Warren and Sarah Belle Smith. She was the youngest of seven. She was raised on Wolf Head Ranch. She married Fred Briggs on January 20, 1937. They resided a ½ mile from her birth place their entire life. They were married 60 years at the time of his death. She is survived by Evelyn and Norvin Liska, Kenneth and Dorothy Briggs, grandchildren Wayne, Randy and Brian Butterfield, Lynnette Hyre, David, Steve and Scott Melhorn as well as numerous Great and Great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald. A private burial took place at McCulloch Cemetery. A Memorial Service is scheduled for March 8, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Veneta Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Friends and family are invited to the Crow Grange following the service. The family deeply appreciates the loving care given the last two years of her life by Mitzy and Jim Inman and their daughters at their Woodland Adult Foster Home.
