Obituary of Dorothy Herbert

Dorothy Jane Herbert of Elmira, OR passed away Peacefully on March 19, 2014 at the age of 85. She was born on May 18, 1928 in Eugene, OR to Clarence and Vida McClintic. She graduated from Eugene High in 1946. Married Howard Herbert on May 25, 1949. They lived in Eugene, Austa, Veneta and Elmira. She lived for family and community; loved to cook, sew, crochet, knit and tend to her flowers and enjoyed gardening. Work the Election Board for many years. Anyone who knew Dorothy loved her for her sincere friendship and giving spirit. She brought all of her children up in church. Has been a long standing member of the Elmira Church of Christ, (now the Fern Ridge Christian Church). Preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Dick. Survived by her son Bill (Ginger) of Aloha, OR, daughter Jaynie Kinser (Rance) of Sandy, OR, sons David Veneta and Alan (Lynn) of Phoenix, AZ, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She leaves numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and their families. Funeral Services will be held at the Fern Ridge Christian Church in Elmira on Saturday, March 29th at 11:00am. Reception to follow.
