Obituary of Maria Wray
Maria Wray, long-time resident of the Eugene/Springfield area, passed away on April 11, 2014 at the age of 74. Maria was born in Playa de Ponce, Puerto Rico on March 29, 1940 to Rodolfo and Agustina Oliver. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Douziech of Hindsdale, Montana; two daughters, Cathleen Crafts of Springfield and Karen Oliver of Eugene; two sons, Eric of Pendleton and Rodolfo of Alvadore, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carman Wray. Maria graduated high school as valedictorian of her class. She taught genealogy and history for many years. She loved knitting, crocheting, and quilting, but children were the delight of her life. A memorial service will be held at Glenwood Christian Church at 1735 Henderson Avenue, Eugene, on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at noon. A potluck lunch will immediately follow.
