Geraldine Hurt

Obituary of Geraldine Hurt

Geraldine Mae Hurt passed away peacefully on April 6, 2014 at the age of 89. She was a descendant of Mrs. Henry Spalding, one of the first women to cross the plains to Oregon. This heritage was evident in her character. She retired from the U of O athletic ticket department, where generations of athletes enjoyed her lemon cake! A supporter of Oregon Athletics through thick and thin, her favorite bowl game always remained her first at the Independence Bowl in 1989. She continued to travel to as many Bowl games as she could with her friends and family. In her later years her favorite activities were tending to her roses, reading and gathering with friends and family at Home Buffet. One of the things we will miss the most is her outstanding memory. If she could not answer our questions outright she would refer to her extensive journals. She never took life for granted and always wondered why she was so blessed. It was because of the way she lived and treated people. She was fortunate to have so many loving friends and will be greatly missed. “To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die” No memorial services are planned. She will be placed at West Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of Memories Funeral Home at West Lawn. Please access the obituary and you are invited to sign the guestbook at musgroves.com
