Obituary of Douglas Lee

Douglas A. Lee passed away on April 6, 2014 of a heart attack. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Woolley Lee; his children, Crystal, David and Sarah; his mam, Hilda Lee; and his siblings, Robert, Diane, Sandra, Michael, Suzanne, Christine, and Timothy.Doug was born December 8, 1954 in Walla Walla, WA to Robert E. and Jeanne Jackson Lee. He graduated from Stayton High School and attended the University of Oregon where he studied political science and philosophy. In 1986 Doug founded Lee Construction Company where he worked as General Contractor.Doug had a large heart which he generously shared with those he loved, both family and friends. He was very involved with local organizations, and acted as a supporter of Direction Service, the YMCA, Tamarack Wellness Pool and Kids Sports. He was also a supporter of track in Eugene, generously providing contactor services for the Olympic Trials.While not working Doug could often be found on his bike or running with friends. He was an avid triathlete who struck a balance between work and fun. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling. He was loved dearly by all. His bellowing laugh will never be forgotten.A celebration of life will be held at Ford Alumni Center, 1720 East 13th, University of Oregon, on Thursday April 17th, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Parking available at Matt Arena.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to any of the above organizations.
