Obituary of Howard Wallsmith JR
On April 21st, 2014 Howard Blaine Wallsmith Jr. aka WALLY, was taken to the big fishing hole in the sky. He passed away due to a long fight with Cancer, he was 73. Wally was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 3rd, 1940 to Katheryn and Howard B. Wallsmith SR. He was a strong, loving man that would do anything for you, if ever needed. He served in the United States Air Force for 21 years and soon after started working for Weyerhaeuser in Springfield, OR. He finally decided that there where to many fish out there that needed to be caught, so he retired from Weyerhaeuser after 20 years. Wally was not just your average fisherman, he was the best. There was no pond to small or lake to bi that he wouldn’t want to fish. He loved the outdoors, but most of all he loved his family. He is survived by a loving wife, Alta Wallsmith, of 53 years of marriage. He is survived by his (son) Gregg and Ruby of Springfield, (son) Jeff and Trisa of Eugene. He had 4 grandchildren, (grandson) Travis of Springfield, (grandson) Steven of Eugene, (granddaughter) Crystal and Kaleb Crandall of Springfield, and (granddaughter) Strysa. He leaves behind 5 very precious great grandchildren, sierra, Sapphire, Tyler, Bryaden, and Myles. We will all be fishing with you again soon, so save a spot for us in the boat. Love You Always….
