Obituary of Helen Green

Helen Barbara Green was born October 1, 1927 in Oakland, California and passed away on May 6, 2014. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Earl William Green and son, Gary I. Green.Helen grew up on a family farm in La Centre, Washington, with her 4 younger siblings. She was in the Cadet Nursing Corp., and graduated from St. Josephs School of Nursing in Vancouver, WA., in March of 1948.Helen, Earl and their children moved to Eugene in 1956, where she worked for Sacred Heart Hospital and later retired from Weyerhaeuser as a nurse. She loved travelling and travelled around the world on her own and often with her children.Helen is survived by her son Dr. David Green, daughters Cynthia Green, Shelley Dyck and her husband Bob. Daughter-In-Law Joyce (Hockinson) Green, ‘ Favorite’ brother Bill Ware and his wife Jean, grandchildren, Jason Williams and wife Susie, Leif Williams and wife Amy, Dr. Kyle Green and Holly Green and 6 great grandchildren as well as her beloved paraplegic dog, Lilly.An outdoor funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the home of daughter, Shelley Dyck. 541-554-6343.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to The Eugene Mission.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
