Obituary of Lester Kist
Lester Dale Kist was born in New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa, April 22, 1934 to LeRoy and Labenius Tessmer Kist. He died in Junction City, Oregon on May 17, 2014 at age 80. The family moved to Arizona when he was about age 2. He graduated from West Phoenix High School. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1951. He worked as a journeyman carpenter for 45 years as a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. His wife, Virginia Salas Kist, preceeded him in death. He is survived by a brother, Orlin Kist of Frazier Park, California, a sister, Adele Glover of Junction City, Oregon, a son, Daniel Kist of San Deigo, California, a daughter, Cynthia Curtner of San Antonio, Texas, and four grandsons, Thomas and David Curtner, Evan and Philip Kist. Internment is at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home.
