Obituary of Mary "Mef" Franc Simpson

Mef Simpson passed away peacefully on July 23, 2013 in Brandon, Manitoba.
Mef was born November 13, 1927 to Leonard and Martha Hankins in Chicago, Illinois. She was predeceased in 2009 by her loving husband, Murray, whom she married in 1950.
She is survived by her children; Vandy Simpson of Wareham, Ontario, Dr. Carl Simpson (Anna Marie Larsen) of Waterloo, Ontario, and Joanne Keith (Ward Keith) of Winnipeg. She also leaves her two grandchildren; Jonah and Arielle Keith.
Mef graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Interior Design. When she and Murray settled in Brandon, Mef became an active member of the community and well-known artist. She was very involved with the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba and for many years, owned the Small House Gallery in Brandon along with three of her dearest friends.
Mef and Murray were strong supporters of the Arts and loved to travel and entertain.
Mef was fortunate to have exceptional friends who loved and cared for her to the very end. To these special people, her children wish to express their gratitude. You enriched her life and brightened her days.
There will be no formal service, but those wishing to honour Mef's memory are encouraged to make a donation to the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba, Unit 2-710 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, MB, R7A 0K9.
