Obituary of Thayer Dickey

Thayer R Dickey of Junction City died of age related causes at age 96. He was born in Eugene to Lester L & Gracia Reetz Dickey. He married Thelma Lee "Pat" on Jan 17, 1943, who preceded him in death in 2008. He went to Oregon State for 3 years working towards his engineering degree. He was a farmer, machinist, engineer and worked as the Director of Public Works at Junction City for 17 years. After retiring they traveled all over the United States in their Airstream trailer, making many new friends. Thayer enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was part of the Emerald Valley Model Engineers Club and spent many hours machining steam and gas model engines. Survivors include; his sister Phyllis Sarsar of Anaheim, CA; two sons, Joe and his wife Pam of Eugene, Doug and his wife Mary of Fort Myers, FL. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 21 at 1:00 pm at the Junction City United Methodist Church.Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of Memories Funeral Home at West Lawn.
