Obituary of Nellie Brooks

Nellie Brooks passed away on July 3, 2014 from heart failure. She was born in Yates Center, Kansas on August 4, 1928 to Emanuel and Enola (Langley) Wooten. She married Art Brooks on December 24, 1942. They moved to Springfield, Oregon in 1958 and started Springfield Appliance. They divorced in 1985. She married Bill Griffith on January 7, 1983. He passed away on May 13, 2007. She loved to travel and in 2006 she and her daughters went on a cruise to Hawaii, which she never stopped talking about. In 2011, she moved to Briarwood Assisted Living. We would like to thank them for all the wonderful care she received. Nellie is survived by her daughters, Karen Brooks Waller (Mike), Sheila Burton and son, Steve, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and her companion of 6 years, Roger White. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Springfield Church of God.
