Obituary of Elmer Henderson

Elmer Henderson 95 of Junction City, Oregon died July 8th, 2014 of cancer. He was born in Lancaster, Oregon to Vada and Jesse Henderson on May 8, 1919. He lived most of his life in Junction City and Eugene. He attended school in Junction City. He joined the 3C (Army) in 1944 to 1946 and served in combat in foreign countries, Japan, Luzern and Manila. He was preceded in death by his parents Vada and Thomas Henderson, 1st wife Lorena, brothers, Virgil –Hal, Ray Henderson of Junction City, sisters, Edna LaBlue, Verna, Rita of Junction City, son Elvin Henderson of Arizona. He is survived by sister, Fay Zavosky of Mapleton, Oregon He married Edith (Potter) Henderson on August 23, 1993. She survives and is survived by 2 daughters, Beverly McCormick of Springfield, Oregon and Roxanne Henderson of McMinnville, Oregon and son, Daniel Lee Henderson of Salt Lake City, Utah. Two step-sons, Randy Potter of Salem, Oregon and Craig Potter of Springfield, Oregon, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Elmer worked for McDonald Construction, Carter James Roaker and Don Bigalow Logging Co. as a Diesel Mechanic until his retirement. Funeral will be held at Lane Memorial Funeral Home on July 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM In lieu of flowers, make contributions in Elmer's name to Franklin Christian Church , 92072 Territorial Rd, Junction City, Oregon.
